Insurance law made simple

What are you rights as an insurance policyholder?
When you buy an insurance policy, you're not just paying to be reimbursed in case you need to pay some amount for an incident covered by your policy.  Most policies include both a duty to defend and a duty to indemnify.

What is a coverage lawsuit?

Insurance Tips
Always make your premium payments on time. You could be denied coverage if you have missed payments or if your payments are late.

Most insurance policies have reporting requirements. You may be required to notify your insurance provider if you receive notice of any of the following:
  • Notice of an accident

  • Notice of a possible malpractice claim

Be sure to promptly notify your insurance provider if you learn of a potential claim. Most insurance policies require you to send notice of a potential claim within a set time period. Always be away of deadlines in your policy.
