Building Code Violations
What to do if you receive notice of a violation:
  • Take action right away, do not ignore any notices.
  • Check the hearing date on the ticket. You will be required to appear before a City of Chicago hearing officer.
  • If you do not appear for your hearing, you may be defaulted. A default is an automatic judgment against you. You have 30 days to vacate a default judgment after it is entered.

You can see whether your building has received any tickets through the City of Chicago's website.

Mortgage Refinancing and Modification
Many homeowners find their outstanding mortgage amount exceeds the value of their home, even after already having paid thousands of dollars...
You have options!
Loan Modification: A loan modification is a change in the terms of your current mortgage agreement. You must be experiencing a financial hardship to qualify for a loan modification.

Loan Refinancing: A refinance is a new loan you take out to repay and old loan.
